Mann Hann SM Fairview – A Special Dinner Party With The Family

Posted on Jan 9 2015 - 10:44am by tweenselmom

We’ve tried eating before in a different Mann Hann branch. Our first time was in Trinoma and we were only 4 then. Last night was more special since the family is more complete. It was also the birthday of one of my sisters-in-law. You’ll realize how fun a big family can be during these moments, when you dine out with the whole gang.

Picking Mann Hann at SM Fairview to celebrate a special night with the family was a great decision. We were there 7:00PM and the whole row of seats was assigned to us, enough for everyone of us to be able to sit down. We were a bit late and my in-laws already ordered the food. We saw the table already filled with good food and I was just so hungry to be able to take food photos (sad) I just contented myself on taking photos of our left overs LOL.

Anyway, I still wanted to share how Mann Hann food tasted and the comfort of our stay, how we enjoyed our dinner and how it became a memorable night for all of us.

What We Ordered

For some photos, these came from Mann Hann FB page and for some, I’ll just describe them from memory.

Yang Chow Fried Rice
Mann Hann’s Yang Chow is meaty and filling.
The quality of rice is soft and high-grade. It wasn’t oily. It was flavorful and yet not too salty.

 Maki Mi

This is a  thick brown soup which looked sweet but it wasn’t. It was an addicting dish because of the unusual texture for a soup. With the soup are some wrapped meat which are soft and just delicious. This is one of the dishes which left a  mark in my memory. Definitely coming back for more of this.

Egg Plant With Minced Pork

Another great dish for me! Tastes similar to egg omelet only without the egg and then elevate the taste to ten times maybe. What’s good with Mann Hann’s ground pork is that they are lean and not oily. Too bad for me because it makes me eat more rice.

Lumpiang Shanghai

This dish was maybe the most underestimated. Maybe because we always eat Lumpiang Shanghai. But Mann Hann’s version of rolls are bigger and more filling. Combine it with the Pancit Canton and you will be full already without you knowing it.

Hototai Soup

This soup is our family favorite. I can’t remember any family dine out without ordering this soup. You need to finish your bowl as soon as possible because when it gets cold, it loses its appeal. Hototai is a filling dish on its own because it has shrimp, pork and vegetable.

Pancit Canton

Mann Hann’s Pancit Canton is full of flavor and so meaty. Just be careful because there are several whole pieces of calamansi inside it (with the skin intact). I guess it brings a unique flavor to the pancit and yet you won’t be able to taste any kind of bitterness from the calamansi. The pancit tastes of the traditional pancit canton, not overpowering and not salty. Just plain pancit canton goodness.

Hakaw

Your visit to Mann Hann won’t be complete without tasting their Hakaw. Hakaw is one type of shrimp dumpling which is a delicious appetizer, a meal in-betweener, or a snack. Shrimp inside the hakaw is moderate in size, not too big but not too small to be dissatisfied.

My in-laws also ordered Roast Chicken and Beef Broccoli Flower.

And don’t forget the drink!

We had their brewed Iced Tea which was the best I’ve tasted yet. The tea flavor was very subtle but delicious unlike the ordinary iced tea you get from other restaurants.

Now these are my actual photos, our used plates filled with marks of sauces of the dishes we’ve enjoyed. Burp.

Mann Hann’s Menu

Got this from Mann Hann’s Facebook page and I decided to share this so you can see the other dishes there in case you plan to go. All in all, my hubby and his sisters paid P8,000+ for the whole dinner meal. We were 15 adults then so compute that, it will be P500+ per head. A little bit steep but so worth it. Mann Hann’s seats are comfortable too and the staff were accommodating. We also got a whole lot of take-outs from our left-overs which we ate for lunch the next day.
