Fantasia Cafe At Ayala Fairview Terraces

Fantasia Cafe had been a mysterious place for so long at Ayala Fairview Terraces. Its fancy name written in fancy letters and purple color is enough to pique our curiosity. Finally, today, we’ve seen it open and was just perfect since we were actually looking for a place  to eat dinner after church.

Fantasia is indeed Fantasia and first-time goers will surely be enthralled with the chandeliers, huge cushioned seats, big tables, ball masks and headdresses. You can see the bright interiors from the outside that’s why all passersby couldn’t help taking a peek.

Actually, we couldn’t help taking photos as soon as we got our seats. Their masks and headdresses, plus the beautiful masks displayed on their main wall, are the main attractions of Fantasia Cafe.

Fantasia is more of a coffee and dessert restaurant as I’ve seen from their menu. They have lots of delicious-looking crepes, waffles, and toasts plus cold treats. Look at some of the pages from their menu.

But we weren’t there for their desserts but for dinner meals. Fortunately, they have set meals with rice and pasta which are just right for our budget.

My daughters aren’t big eaters yet so usually they still share their meal. We ordered Le Cordon Bleu Pork Chop for them, with extra rice and the serving size is big enough for the four of us to share. The kids loved the meal specially the gravy! Hubby ordered the Charcoal Grill Sirloin Steak which he said was ok though some parts were a bit tough to eat. I ordered the Pan Fried Fish w/ Sweet Pepper Sauce and for me, the fish was seasoned enough, fresh and delicious. It was the pasta which came bland but I didn’t mind it since I tend to avoid too much salt these days. The meals come with brewed iced tea which may be a little bit sweeter than normal but still better than ordinary iced tea served on other restaurants.

Overall, the food is an 8/10 but for the service, you’ll have to be patient. I think the staff are still new and nervous that they seem to be all over the place. Food took more than 30 minutes to be served and they served the meals one at a time. Maybe they will get better on this part as they get used to the flow of customers. Let’s give them a chance. We are definitely going back and so looking forward to try their coffee, frappe and other sweet treats.

Tips when dining in: if you are planning to eat meal sets, don’t sit on those spots with small tables. They serve their meals using very huge plates and if your companions are more than one person, your table space won’t be enough. Better to sit also where you will be near the cashier and the serving window. You will get to call the waiters easier that way in case you need anything, and you’ll also get your bill and receipt faster.
