Yexel’s Museum At Manila Ocean Park – Have A Fun Day Taking Photos

Posted on Jul 11 2015 - 9:55pm by tweenselmom

It had always been our plan to see Yexel’s Toy Museum in Las Piñas but the place is just too far from us. When we saw one of my husband’s cousins shared their photos they got at Yexel’s in Manila Ocean Park, we decided to go and visit this instead of the one in Las Las Piñas. We also decided to bring with us my in-laws who are as groovy as us when it comes to traveling and taking fun photo shots.

So off we went one Sunday morning. We attended the Sunday mass first to start the day right then afterwards, we were still early enough when we arrived at Manila Ocean Park. We were there 9AM and it was just perfect since people were just starting to pour in, and the ticket line is still not that long. Yexel’s Museum is located on the 2nd floor of Manila Ocean Park’s building and it opens 9AM during weekends but their air conditioner is being opened 10AM. (That’s according to the staff, which I think shouldn’t be that way.)

We all couldn’t wait to take our photos. The entrance area is already full of cute and colorful photos of Minions on the walls. We had our earliest fun shots there.

The museum is not that big. You will be out of the museum within an hour but I can assure you that you will enjoy every minute of it if you are truly a movie fan. The kids, and even us adults, had a great time feasting our eyes with the life-sized statues of different toy and movie characters inside. Different areas were arranged per movie theme (not to be a spoiler, I’ll just mention Minions, IronMan and Star Wars) but there are a lot more. And the statues look like the original characters, not like the statues used as displays on some malls and resorts which don’t look nice and degrading to my favorite movie characters. In this museum, you’ll respect the images and that’s exactly the reason why we enjoyed taking our photos with these figures. And then of course, they got those famous upside-down areas which are kind of unique.

The museum is meant to be visited with someone, unless you aren’t planning to get your photos. Even if the staff are friendly enough to take your photos, and they can print your photos there (with fees: P100 minimum depending on the size of your photo, and you can’t have the digital copy), isn’t it kind of lonely if you visit a fun place all by yourself. We remember there was one visitor then who was alone. Maybe he was too shy to tell us to take his photo we just saw that he was sitting on one of the thrones with my 9 year old daughter taking his photo.

After going to Yexel’s, there are still a lot of places around the area where your family can spend time together. Food for one is not a problem as there are a number of food spots inside the Manila Ocean Park complex. Down the block too is the bay area where there are multitudes of affordable restaurants. If you decide you aren’t done with your day, you can opt to go to nearby malls such as SM Manila or SM Mall of Asia.

Because we wanted you to experience the same fun we had last time at Yexel’s Toy Museum, I am raffling off 4 Tickets for my readers! I’ll announce the winners by July 24 and the tickets can be used till August 31, 2015.
