Planning To Get Pregnant – Free Classes In QC You Should Take Advantage Of

If there is any stage in parenting where you can really use your planning skills, it’s in the planning stage of pregnancy. I can confidently say that because, in my 13 years of parenting, uncertainty starts the moment your child comes out from you in the delivery room. But while you are in the planning stage, from the time when you and your husband had just decided that you wanted that little bundle of joy to that day when you start to babyproof your home before the baby arrives, that you will be able to perfectly handle given that you are equipped with the proper information and health care.

Even if I had been parenting for more than a decade, there are still a lot more to learn. How much more for a first-time mom? But don’t worry, help is just around the corner.

Millenials (as what they call the moms in this generation) are quite lucky that there’s a flood of information when it comes to pregnancy. Not to mention the relatives and friends who are eager to give tips and advises,  the OB-Gynes and healthcare professionals, there’s also the huge online library, the internet.

And there’s more and they can be more fun because you get to interact with other moms who will be there throughout your visits. I’m talking about the various pregnancy classes you and your husband can attend. The good news is these classes can be availed free in the First Time Mom Unit of Jesus Memorial Delgado Hospital. Here’s the list of classes and a brief description about them.

Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital

Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital Address: 7 Kamuning Rd., Kamuning, Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines Tel: 924-4051 to 64; 925-2991 to 97 (Connecting all departments ) Email addresses: jdmh@pldtdsl.net,marketing@jesusdelgadohospital.com

Pregnancy and Childbirth Preparation Classes
This will be very important for first-time moms. This will be like reading “What To Expect When You Are Expecting” like knowing normal body changes you can expect throughout pregnancy and how you should deal with them.

Vaccination and Newborn Care Counseling
I only knew all about this when I gave birth to my first child. It’s because you will only get to meet your first pediatrician when your child is born. But in this workshop, you’ll already be able to know how important these vaccines are and how you should manage your finances before your baby is born because vaccines are not cheap.

Nutrition Counseling and Exercise Classes
“Eating for two” when you are pregnant may not always be that healthy for you. It will be beneficial for you to know the right nutrition both for you and your baby from health professionals.

Basic First Aid and CPR Classes
These classes are essential not only for moms and babies but also for husbands and helpers.

Breastfeeding Counselling and Play Workshops
Learn how to properly breastfeed and deal with the challenges of breastfeeding.

There are a lot more to things I may not have mentioned which you can learn within each of these workshops. And if ever I get pregnant before I turn 50, I’ll definitely take all these classes with my husband. Even though I’m a mom of two already, I feel I still have a lot of things to learn.

Membership for the First Time Mom Unit of JDMH is free and offers prenatal and postnatal classes for moms, parents of newborns, and other people involved in the care of the baby. Members are also guaranteed “VIP Maternity Services” from the hospital with additional benefits like discounted rates for some pharmacy items, discounted fees for selected laboratory tests and radiology and ultrasound procedures, and an ambulance service. Plus, the moms can get a complimentary photo before and after the delivery, a welcome treat for the new member of the family, and freebies from different sponsors.

So don’t miss the First Time Mom Unit launch on May 29 so you can get the free membership and the membership card! See flyers below or you may call 924-4051 or 0908-992-6999 if you have additional inquiries. See you there!
