If you are an SSS member, you will also be glad to see this feature which I have just seen in SSS website.

To go to , you just login to the website , under E-Services, click Simulated Retirement Calculator

As for my understanding, simulated means that this will be a member’s potential retirement benefits once he or she turns 60 years old. It answers the questions: Magkano ang makukuha ko pagtanda ko mula sa mga na-contribute ko na sa SSS. For both employed and voluntary members, this feature is encouraging because I know na “pag may isinuksok, may madudukot” in the future.

For a work at home mom like me, it also allows me to decide if I wish to increase the contributions I want to make. SSS says that unless you are 55 and above, you are allowed to increase your contributions even to the highest level, without limits in the number of changes you want to make.

For example in my case, where I pay only the minimum P550 contribution, when I continue paying this amount till I reach 60, I will be able to get a monthly amount of P4,500 plus monthly when I retire. This excludes other benefits that I can get from SSS. This excludes the benefits I’ve already got from being an SSS member like my maternity benefits (caesarian twice) and SSS loans.

Securing your children’s present needs and future education may be your primary focus as a parent however, don’t forget that you will also have a life when your kids are gone and have their own families.

What do you think of this new feature of SSS?
