In this refreshing all-natural drink, I’ve combined fresh lemon extract and Welch’s 100% Concord Grape Juice. You can drink Welch’s by itself but if you love that lemony taste as well, you can use this recipe.
I’ve long abstained from using powdered juices and when in restaurants, I usually ask if they are natural or squeezed from fresh fruits. It’s because I discovered that there’s a whopping amount of sugar in these powdered drinks.
Generally, I’m being more careful these days on the nutritional content that my family is getting. Unlike in my younger days when we can just eat anything, I do try my best to make the foods I prepare at home to be as varied as possible, with less cholesterol and yes, less sugar. My kids are away from home almost 50% of the day so I have no control
Welch’s grape juice is one of my favorite natural fruit juices in the market because it’s made from Concord grapes. The one on my photo is not actually Concord, you can tell it from the shape because Concord is more round and when you eat them, they are more succulent.
Why Concord? Because it’s packed with vitamins and it’s actually considered a superfruit. And because Welch’s is all-natural, I’m sure that there’s no sugar added, no preservatives and it has no cholesterol.
It’s such great news for us to learn that Welch’s has just celebrated its 150th anniversary and the brand is staying strong as ever as more people discover how nutritious and delicious actually Welch’s grape juice is.
Without further ado, here’s the recipe. It’s easy as 1-2-3 and I’m sure you are going to enjoy this grapey/lemony goodness in any kind of weather.
Ingredients:
4 cups of Welch’s 100% Grape Juice
1/2 cup lemon extract
1/2 cup sugar
1-2 liter pitcher
stir everything together in your pitcher and chill
add cubed ice before serving
