Me, with my eldest, who is now a tween. We were just blessed then that I had healthy pregnancy and my CS delivery was successful with the help of my OB, Pedia and my loving husband. But life as a new mom back then will be much easier if I had known more and there were more available help. If I can turn back time, when I was pregnant with my first child, I wish I had just been pregnant in this decade. My pregnancy with my eldest was like groping in the dark, and my husband and I had just relied on my ob-gyne and pediatrician. We made sure...

How’s your Christmas month going? Mine’s the same as with most of the moms I know of, busy and the days seem to pass by in a blur. But you know what, I don’t regret any of it. Being busy is a blessing because it means you are alive and your hands are full of things worthy of your time. I love to share a part of this prayer written by a certain Faith Sommers which appreciates mothers who are busy.Part of the blessings that I cherish during the Christmas season are the gifts given to me by my loved ones and my friends....

Do you use apps? Sa dami ng apps available, I stopped using so many and retained only a few. Because like some of the books I own (the physical books) end up being dusty. I am always de-cluttering at home and that’s the same with my phone. Aside from the default apps, I only keep my social media apps, Waze, Uber/Grab, A PDF Reader, and this one, most recently, The Smart Mommy App. The Smart Mommy App is actually a very new app which I’ve learned from the developer herself LJ Reyes. Yes, the actress LJ Reyes. I met her just...

I think every second child that I know have already eaten KoKoKrunch. And we moms know why. It’s crunchy, chocolatey and perfect to combine with milk. And who can ever forget KoKo the famous Koala we see on TV? I grew up seeing KoKo and the animated tv commercials. It’s not only the kids who love KoKoKrunch at home, but we adults too. And it’s great to know that aside from the chocolatey taste, this breakfast cereal gives us more.4 steps how¬† Koko Krunch is being made Look at all these vitamins you get when you eat...

This blog post is dedicated to my daughter who will officially be a “teen” this year. I know that once she reads this post, she’ll be shy. I understand and I respect that she may not be that comfortable being the subject of a blog. But I am just too happy to take this opportunity to tell her how proud we are of her accomplishments as a student, as a friend and as a daughter. She’ll be turning 13 before the end of the year, and what better way to end the tween phase of her life and celebrate the start of her teenhood...

As my kids approach their teenage years, I’ve started to notice behaviors that were not there before. And it pained me a lot. I didn’t realize that parenting can hurt you that much if you get too sensitive about it. If you have kids who roll their eyes sometimes when you try to discipline or teach them something, and you are annoyed to the max, welcome to my world. You Are Not Alone Yes, I’ve easily thought that its only my kids. And sometimes we parents have a problem with that. We often idealize other people’s...

Having the kids eat breakfast very early in the morning was a daily feat for me. I tried different strategies just to avoid me nagging on them daily to have something to eat before going to school. Some of my strategies which all FAILED were : 1. Cooking their favorite food (you know how kids are, they love hotdogs and chicken and nuggets) – BUT they can’t just eat these kinds of food everyday so I had to find another way. 2. Open the tv while they eat – I thought this will make them stay at the table and eat. What happened...

I love weekends when the four of us have free time and freedom to choose how to bond with each other. These times are precious to my husband and I because as the kids grow up, our moments together are getting less and less. We parents get more and more busy with work while the kids are the same with their school projects and their own set of friends. Sometimes, I think of ways how we can bring back the days when my daughters were still younger, when we will watch cartoons, or play board games or just talk about anything under the sun....
