Memory Power Booster – A Mom’s All Day Requirement

SUPER POWERSHave you ever seen your desktop full of post its like my photo above? Well, I had it exaggerated but some days, I really need to organize all my post its just to be able to see what I need to prioritize during the day. I can’t work without a list or a post-it. I also don’t feel comfortable working without jotting down my ideas and to-do-lists. So to answer Nuffnang’s question : What skill would I like to unlock and why? Definitely to never forget any detail.

They said when you deliver your babies through CS, you’ll have this some kind of amnesia or memory problem. Well, both of my daughters were born through CS. I guess, all those anesthesia chipped a part of my brain that’s why it’s so easy for me to forget. However, I doubt that too because I can still remember important details that I need whenever I want to. I guess it’s really when there’s too much work to do and I am already overwhelmed then I tend to forget the things I am supposed to do.

I remember this one time, when my daughter had so many activities at school, assignments and projects, I was trying to find my daughter’s scrunchie to fix her hair. We couldn’t find it and I began to get mad at her, nagging her for being irresponsible for her things. It was very early in the morning and so my daughter got offended and then when she was about to cry, she told me, “Si Mommy oh, suot mo kaya yung scrunchie ko!”. I never thought I could be that forgetful!

Being a mom is a daunting task, when you don’t have a maid to help you with household chores, then you work at home for a living. But being a mom will always be fulfilling no matter how tough it gets. I realize that most of the time, what we really need is just to allow ourselves to have a break after several hours of working. Have a break to regain the energy and boost the memory.

I have to agree on everything you said. Both of my kids were delivered via CS and yes truly affected my memory function. It’s annoying how I made grocery list and then forgets to bring it in the grocery! Haha! Let’s have a break.

Serene, that exactly happens to meeee! What I do now is I put my grocery list again on a post it and then stick it on my cellphone. Because I never forget my cellphone haha. Makalimutan na lahat wag lang ang cellphone 🙂

I would definitely agree to all you’ve said. My son was delivered via CS too, and yes, I think too that my brain was chipped, like 70% of it. Haha. Mine is severe, maybe because I have to juggle a lot of responsibilities at work and home but it’s really funny sometimes. Haha

I gave birth to all my 3 children naturally, no epidural at all since it was a primary hospital and they weren’t allowed to administer it. I must say, it may not just be the anesthesia that makes us forgetful because I am super forgetful. Waaaah. Maybe lack of sleep contributes to it too? 🙂

Hi May! I must agree with you too! 6 hours is my maximum hours of sleep, and most of the time I feel groggy. Congrats to your no epidural, I couldn’t imagine bearing the pain 🙁
