It Pays To Pay Your SSS When You Work At Home

Have you paid your SSS yet? We have just paid ours for the first quarter of 2015. Last year, we skipped several months due to financial constraints but this year, we want to start with a better year in paying our dues. As a work at home mom, it definitely pays to pay SSS because it’s like a barnyard of benefits when time comes.

If you think you are already late for this quarter, there’s still a few days left. Check your SSS number and see this SSS 2015 schedule of payment and contribution.

SSS

schedule of payment as extracted from SSS website

Sample Benefits

Take like my father who had turned senior two years before. He was able to contribute at least the minimum amount of number of contributions on SSS but he had loans which he wasn’t able to pay for so many years. We thought he wouldn’t be able to get anything from SSS because he had totally neglected his SSS membership. Fortunately, he was able to realize he still had his initial contributions and tried to check with SSS. He was able to get a lumpsum amount of P90,000 and he currently receives at least P4,000 to P6,000 a month, and all his debts were already paid.

If you don’t pay SSS, I suggest it’s time to really check on it and fill up. It’s like paying forward for your future and your beneficiaries.

Oh I believe this! I think SSS helps, even in small ways. My mom is also on SSS retirement benefit right now and it’s helping them in their finances a lot. When I was pregnant with my eldest, SSS was also a big help to us at that time, along with PHILHEALTH. It wasn’t a huge amount but it helped. I appreciate these little government benefits. 🙂

I totally agree with you May 🙂 I just totally wish that the government invest more to improve their website to encourage more people and make their system a little bit more transparent. Kasi right now, the only way to get your benefits is to suffer the line in their SSS branches.

Oh yes! You also have to wait for them to notify you if processed na then youll have to pick up the check and have it encashed.

I didn’t stop paying my SSS premiums even if I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. Our family believes that it’s always best to invest in it. It really helps a lot-my mom who is a SAHM for decades and now a senior, and me now that I’m pregnant. I’d be getting a big amount from maternity benefits. Laking kabawasan sa bills 🙂

so agree, before I’ve heard others doubt SSS benefits kasi ang tagal daw makuha or mahirap, but still they get the benefits.

I really regret not paying my SSS premiums when I stopped working. Sayang din sana yung nakuha ko nung nanganak ako, kaso tinamad akong asikasuhin, hay.

Hello, Mommy Lan. You’re post just reminded me that I should religiously pay my SSS now. Naalala ko dati na wala akong nakuha sa kanila when I gave birth because the company I worked for two years eh 6 months lang pala ang ibinayad and nung nag-resign ako at lumipat sa ibang company, hindi ko naasikaso yung SSS ko so wala talaga akong nakuha. 🙁 Buti na lang may Philhealth. Noon wala akong tiwala sa SSS eh, pero when I got pregnant doon ko narealize na may silbi pala talaga ito. 🙂

I stopped working for 5 years na ata and since then, I haven’t made any contributions up until today. I’m not a believer din kasi with government services and prefer saving on my own. But that’s just me 🙂

Had benefited from SSS through their maternity benefit. Also avail their SSS salary loans kaso taas ng interest :). Because of it, my dad is receiving a monthly pension, though small but it really really helps my parents. Anyways, in a way SSS is a big help and hoping walang corruption para naman mas maganda nag service nila 🙂

I had no idea! I haven’t been working in a while and so I just assumed that was something for working people. I can’t avail of it anymore since we moved abroad but I’ll let my family back home know about this. Thanks a lot!

I wasn’t able to continue my SSS when I stopped working. Now, you made me think about continuing it too. Although I am hesitant, kasi hindi ba mas malaki and mas secure if you invested in an Insurance plan instead?

I do not work from home, but I pay my SSS monthly thru salary deduction every 15th of the month. I love the benefits of SSS. (most especially Salary loan and of course the maternity benefits). Last month, i was able to get a check from SSS and since I have more than 60 contributions, i was quite shocked with the amount i was able to loan from them! 🙂

I stopped paying for my sss after I gave birth to my 3rd baby. I got a life insurance from SunLife instead. I still pay for my Philhealth though.

I stopped paying for my SSS contribution when I decided to be a stay at home mom. I have no plan to continue it but instead get a retirement plan from insurance company na lang.

My previous company didn’t provide for SSS so I pay for mine as well. Now that I’m just starting to work from home (part-time) I still continue to pay. Thanks for posting the schedule, it served as a great reminder. 🙂

I’ve stopped my contributions when I stopped work to become a SAHM. Will consider this again soon.

Definitely. I work full-time in an office but I know how helpful SSS can be during delivery. I tried out for a personal loan as well, just for the heck of it. Pretty fast process online.

I stopped making monthly contributions as well when I made the shift to be a full time homemamker. But I know of the benefits and still get to avail of them via the husband.
