How Can One Be Called An Inspiring Mommy Blogger?

Posted on Apr 9 2015 - 8:17am by tweenselmom

I’ve just read from somewhere that someone is asking a group of people of who they think are the inspiring blogger moms. Of course, nobody nominated me maybe because either they don’t know me or they just don’t have me on their minds as an inspiring one. Then I’ve thought about it and asked myself, how can someone really be considered an inspiring mommy blogger?

inspiring blogWhat “Inspiring” Means

From Merriam-Webster, the word inspiring means : causing people to want to do or create something or to lead better lives.

Take note, “better lives”. Those words are too vague and too general. Each of us have our own perspectives when it comes what’s better for us. A fitness blogger mom doesn’t mean that she is so much a better and more inspiring than someone who blogs about her love for food, and sweets, and junk food etcetera. Or a social activist mommy blogger who campaigns for the poor is better than a fashionista blogger mom. It’s all about perspective.

Being Inspiring Doesn’t Mean Being Popular

A simple housewife blogger who either works or stays at home to take care of her family can be just as inspiring as entrepreneural blogger moms or celebrity blogger moms. How? By being true to herself, accepting the current tasks at hand and not quitting. Because you can’t inspire anyone, your reader, your children, your husband, friends or relatives if you quit or lose hope. Motherhood is not a race as they say. It’s a marathon which you need to finish despite all the odds.

When you are a mommy blogger who have so many followers and good readers, I firmly believe that it doesn’t mean that you are so much better than the other blogger moms who have only a number of subscribers or Facebook “likers”. Each of our experiences are unique, and there are times that the most difficult situations we have tackled, accomplished or conquered were not even being mentioned.

All Mommy Bloggers Can Be Inspiring

When a mommy blog seemingly contains mostly press releases, does that mean that it’s not inspiring? I suggest you read the blog first. I’ve read mommy bloggers which are almost covered with advertorials but when you read their blogs carefully, you’ll see their attitudes, their beliefs and values and some of them will surprise you of how loving and inspiring they can be to their families.

Competition

Do we really need to compete? Motherhood is a whole universe of topics which we can all have a fair share of. The reason why we need to level up, improve how our blogs look, use SEO, is because we want our blogs to be useful to others. We want people to benefit on what we shared and we want them to learn from our experiences, because it’s applicable to them and we are on the same platform.

It’s another issue though when you really want to establish yourself as better than the others as a marketing campaign, when you do blogging to enhance your career. But be careful when you cross the line by directly or indirectly claiming yourself as a better mom by your blog. Even the most incapable writer (incorrect grammar, incorrect spellings, etcetera) will be able to make the most noble decisions for her family.

Read and Learn From Different Kinds of Mommy Bloggers

The best way to learn and be an inspiring mommy blogger is to read and support co-bloggers, such as the members of Mommy Bloggers Philippines (excuse the segue :-)). When we do that, we are able to read new perspectives from different kinds of moms (parenting, fashion, food), check our own sets of ideas, interact and share ideas with these bloggers, and eventually, we won’t be able to contain all of these ideas we will then share them to our readers. One becomes a more complete blogger because her ideas do not totally come from herself but also from other moms who have their own experiences and life lessons.

So, what do you think? Am I an inspiring mommy blogger? 🙂 Thank you! LOL!

I love this paragraph: “A simple housewife blogger who either works or stays at home to take care of her family can be just as inspiring as entrepreneural blogger moms or celebrity blogger moms. I think each one of us wants to inspire people whenever we write on our blog. I think you are an inspiration mommy Lanie because you were the one who founded Mommy Bloggers Phil. Through that venue, I was able to meet so many moms and I thank you for that!

I think every mom is an inspiring one in her own ways. We may have different topics and have tackled different issues but as long as we share the same passion of sharing our experiences and thoughts to help others, then we are all inspiring. 🙂

So spot on! Every mom has her own story/talent to share, so that’s what makes her special and inspiring. 🙂
