Most of us can definitely relate that our mother’s scents will always be our most precious memories of them. Well, in my case, it was my Lola’s, who has been the mother of our family, even to all her grandchildren. Almost all of my cousins were “laki sa lola” just like me. So I dedicate this post to her. I grew up always looking forward to meal times because of the delicious aroma of her adobo and sinigang. Our Christmases were never the same when she was gone with the smell of her “ube halaya” which can’t be defeated even by the best Good Shepherd jar.
This month of May, I was invited to an event sponsored by Downy. It was where they launched their newest scent “Timeless” which was very appropriate to the month’s celebration of Mother’s Day. What a unique way of reminiscing our mother’s love through scent. In a short program filled with music, great food, beautiful venue (it was held at the posh Manila Peninsula Hotel), and best of all, good company, Downy made the guest mommies feel very special. I was with my daughter then and it felt great that I was in an assembly of these mothers who will do everything for the sake of their families.
I went home with the memories of this special day and a special bag containing a big bottle of Downy Timeless. I’ve been a Downy user ever since but I only use the Antibac (the blue one). I’m a kind of bacteria freak so I really try to use antibacterial products when it comes to my husband’s and my kids stuff (detergent, bath soap, shampoo etc). At the same time, I’ve proven that when I put Downy to my laundry and it suddenly rains, our clothes stay smelling good unlike when I don’t use Downy.
I’ve tried DownyTimeless and for now, I am switching to this variant. Compared to the other scented variants, Timeless is very subtle on its scent, when the clothes are still wet and when they are already dried up. Just like a mothers love, as they say, the scent is not imposing. I also like that Timeless’ color is white which doesn’t make me worry when I am washing delicate white clothes. The flowery/fruity/perfume scent is also lovely. I wish to make this scent a part of the memories I create whenever I hang our clothes for drying.
It sounds like you had a lovely Mother’s Day! I am so happy to hear it.
Great photos! Looks like a nice event. And that Downy bottle definitely looks elegant :).
It’s nice that it has a lingering scent, but still remains subtle. I’ve always enjoyed Downy.
Awwww… I agree.. Moms have their own smell talaga noh? Hay, I miss my Mom, Lani..:( Downy lang talaga gamit ko, so na try ko na lahat ng scents nila hahaha..:) I
I’m a downy user too, and like you, I use the Antibac Downy. I’m curious of how this one smells. I will look for this the next time I go grocery shopping.
I don’t use a fabric softener. But I do like the way they smell.
What a beautiful post about mothers and daughter. I like the smell of fabric softener and how clothes come out
Really an awesome post about mother and daughter relationship. I love to use fabric softener and I like it’s smell. The Downy bottle looks so pretty and it sounds like a great fabric conditioner. Will have to check this out.
Aaw miss my mom. I love scented softners but don’t use it.
