This week, we had to make an errand and had to make some quick plans to go to Bonifacio Global City. As this place is way far from home, we thought to take advantage of the trip by visiting some places there before we go home. After all, it’s the kids semestral break.
From Fairview, QC to BGC
We went out from home 5:30am and was there at BGC by 7:00AM by car. It was a weekday, Friday, and traffic was light to moderate during those hours. We took the Katipunan route since it was sembreak and there were no traffic caused by Ateneo. The problem when we got to BGC was finding the parking slot, so we decided that the kids and I will go straight ahead to McDonald’s BGC while hubby finds a parking space.
McDonald’s BGC in 32nd Street
My daughter who is a die-hard AlDub fan got excited when we told her that we will be eating breakfast at the exact branch where Alden and Yaya Dub’s McDonald’s commercial was shot. It was a peak hour for people who are in business suits when we got there.
The Mind Museum
After eating breakfast and we’ve completed our errand, it was still early enough to go home so we thought we can use the spare tickets we have at The Mind Museum. We were disappointed that we couldn’t that day because there so many students then from provincial schools who were having their field trips. Lesson: when going to museums, make sure to call beforehand and check if there will be group visits incoming.
Bonifacio High Street
Since it will be lunch in an hour or two, we decided to go to the nearby mall SM Aura. Hubby parked the car somewhere far but we took advantage of our need to walk by appreciating the beautiful murals on several buildings we saw along the way.
San Pedro Calungsod Chapel SM Aura Premiere
When we got our car, we headed straight to SM Aura where it’ will surely be cold. Our first stop was to visit the church at the top of the mall (Pedro Calungsod). There’s an elevator going up so it wasn’t that hard. The air conditioned church looks like a cozy spaceship or an orange theater inside because of the design of the roof. It was so silent in there and feels so good to pray. You can check the mass schedule here.
SM Aura Roof Deck
Before heading to the food court for lunch, we went straight up to the roof deck. It was windy up there. I am thinking that the place will look nice during night time as I saw all those Christmas lights (turned-off of course) over the plants. You’ll see a great view of the city at the deck.
SM Aura Food Court
The best difference of SM Aura from all the SM branches I’ve been is their food court. It’s huge and the seats are comfortably set for families. The food choices are a bit more expensive than the ones being sold in other SM Food Court but there are lots of good choices too. We ordered at Eat Pinoy and it costed us P750 (1 order of lechon paksiw, 1 order of dinuguan, 4 cups of rice, 1 pineapple juice and 2 glasses of coke).
SM Aura Department Store
The mall is starting to decorate for the holiday season. And this is what I love in all their branches. It feels so festive with all the lights and Christmas balls hanging everywhere.
Slappy Cakes
Before going home, it’s a must that hubby takes his coffee so we decided to try Slappy Cakes thinking that the kids and I can have some pancakes while our driver sips his coffee. Unfortunately, Slappy Cakes is more of the do-your-own-cake that’s why they have those metal sheets on each of the tables where you are supposed to cook and design your own cakes. The staff offered to make the pancakes themselves but I said we would just order something else. We got the coffee, an oreo-sandwich with vanilla ice cream, a chocolate milk shake, and some hot buffalo wings (total P795).
Traffic !
The way back home wasn’t as easy as in the morning. My husband and I swore never to use the Katipunan route ever again during afternoon if it is a weekday. Those humongous trucks felt like they are going to crush us. Grabe! But the good Lord blessed us and in 2 hours we were back home safely.
Did you enjoy my post? Or do you have any questions about our trip? Feel free to comment, will really appreciate it!
BGC is such an amazing place. It looks like you and your kids had a blast! They’re so cute. 🙂 Thanks for sharing
I had a blast too when I worked there 3 years ago. The 1st time I am in BGC, I was in love. Hehe, I just love the place, the ambiance The crowd, the food and how clean it is. Yes, it is way far from Fairview, or Farview? Hehe i am from Fairview too. That is why I quit my job, traffic is unbearable for me.
BGC looks so great, the murals are so gorgeous. Very Instagrammable. Looks like you all enjoyedthe trip.

I’ve always loved BGC. It’s a walking city and there’s so many parks that it relaxes people.
BGC is one of my favorite place to visit whenever I am in Manila. I was able to visit Mind Museum few years ago and there were so many cool things to do. I haven’t seen the art murals in BGC yet but hopefully when I get to visit BGC next time, I’ll be able to see them.
It looks like you had a fabulous day out. I love that street art, it’s great to discover thiings like that when you’re exploring.
Such a pitty that you couldn’t get in to that mind museum – they should say that on their website though 😮
