We had a pleasant lunch eating for the first time at Lido Cocina Tsina (Home of Chinese Pugon-Roasted Asado) in Batasan Hills, QC. We initially planned on just having take-out for lunch but the kids suggested to just eat there and spare us from washing the dishes. It was 11AM so I thought they got a point. It’s almost high-noon and it’s getting hot outside and the restaurant had no customers in there yet. It was as if it was welcoming us with all those empty seats.
The restaurant isn’t that big but the walls are made of glass so the place looks well lit up from outside. It was surprisingly quiet inside considering that the restaurant is along Commonwealth Highway. The crew were all smiling, including the guard outside, and the waiters were very much willing to take our photos.
I scanned the menu and I think their prices were the usual range as in other Chinese restaurants where we’ve eaten before. As this is our first time, my husband and I ordered dishes which are familiar for us.

Hototay Soup – single serve –
For a single serving, I thought it was small but when you consider all the meat inside (pork, wanton, mushroom, seafood), it was already good enough. The soup was tasty and don’t forget to stir it as soon as it is served because it has an egg yolk. We didn’t know about it at first but it still tasted good with the egg yolk half-cooked.
Salt and Pepper Squid – The meat was tender, they were amply salted and there were lots of red pepper but the dish wasn’t that spicy at all.
Buttered Chicken – For the kids, fried chicken is fried chicken and buttered chicken will be just the same. The serving was just enough for the four of us and some take out. I think the taste doesn’t stand out that much and I found the chicken meat too bony. But all’s well since the kids loved it just the same. Note : NO KETCHUP in this restaurant (that’s a major no for my eldest who can’t eat without catsup).
Plain Rice
Coke and Brewed Iced Tea
All in all we paid P930.
We filled-up our tummy fast but we knew that there are still lots of more exciting dishes within the menu. More so when we saw what the next table customers ordered ( garlic broccoli, the best-seller asado, and the buco pandan shake) but we really do not order a lot when the four of us eat out. I always think that it will always be best to order what we can finish and then just try other dishes when we return. We are definitely coming back, maybe with some friends or relatives next time or maybe for another lunch or dinner stop.
Store Opens 10AM daily and closes 9:30PM as the waiter told us.
I’ve also managed to get some leaflets and I think they have very nice menu packages for special occasion (graduations, weddings, baptisms). They also deliver for a minimum of P400 within a specific range.
I like Lido’s pancit and they deliver fast din. When I was still working in Ortigas, we often had food delivery and Lido has always been on top of our list.
I’m not sure but I think i saw this restaurant somewhere here in Cavite or maybe a poster or tarpaulin
that Hototay Soup looks really great and flavorful and the chicken reminds me of the Sincerity Fried Chicken in Binondo .. Hopefully i can visit Lido soon to try out their meals.. thanks for sharing
What I love to eat in Lido is their pancit. I frequently order it coz it’s really delicious. – KarenT
We have Lido Cocina Tsina here in Rizal and I never tried it. The Hototay soup looks palatable though, I will surely try this in the future.
I haven’t tried Lido. Food looks yummy! Do they have branches outside Metro Manila?
How’s the food? I haven’t eaten at Lido’s yet but some of my friends have tried and find the taste too ordinary.
Never heard of Lido Cocina before, well I’m far from QC so maybe that explains it. But I’d sure love to go there to try the salt and pepper squid.
Never heard of this resto before but it’s in QC so I might check it out sometime. The soup looks delicious!
I never heard of this.. the salt and pepper squid looks yummy though..
The squid looks divine! ^___^ Sayang, they don’t have a branch here in Bicol, but I’ll try it out whenever I visit Manila – soon, hopefully. I love the space too. It looks spacious and well-ventilated.
The Salt and Pepper Squid looks yummy! What I like about Chinese food is their fried rice and pancit.
You got me with the salt and pepper squid.
wow! delicious hototay is one of my list to try soon, thanks for sharing
Okay, not a good idea to read this without eating breakfast yet. hahaha. Nagutom ako lalo. 🙂
Their food looks delicious. I will try to drop by here if I go to somewhere in Commonwealth.
Hi Lani!
The Salt and Pepper Squid looks delicious! They may have a branch here in the South that we can visit sometime 🙂
I would love to eat here; I love squid made just right! Hope you find more yummy restaurants
I remember seeing this in Paranaque near MIA but haven’t really tried it yet. I again agree that for kids, fried chicken is fried chicken, be it buttered or classic fried. 🙂
Lido is very popular but I remember being warned that it’s expensive. Still I think their food looks delish!
I’ve seen this in so many places already but I haven’t set foot in one yet though. Oh salt and pepper squid, I want you now!
The food at Lido Cocina Tsina looks absolutely delicious!
I love their pork asado because of their sweet blend sauce! Good thing, we are just near this branch.
I haven’t tried eating here yet but it’s near my aunt’s place.I’ll suggest we go here sometime.
Looks interesting! There is one near us, matry nga one day.
