Do you know any students who have skills in animation? Aspiring student film animators now have the chance to showcase their creativity and film animation skills, and win up to P100,000 cash prize in the Chooey Wowow World Animated Short Film competition.
Universal Robina Corporation’s (URC) chocolate brand, Jack ‘n Jill Chooey, collaborated with the Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI) to launch a special film-making competition. This will be part of Animahenasyon 2016 – an annual Filipino animation festival that will be held on November 22-26, 2016 at the Samsung Hall, SM Aura, Taguig City.
The competition challenges student animators from all over the Philippines to produce a story concept for a 2-3 minute animated film. The concept should latch on the brand’s Chooey Wowow World campaign which aims to encourage kids to enjoy creative and imaginative play in a fun and playful world of chocolate goodness.
Aside from taking inspiration from the campaign, the animated short film should also feature Buboy and friends. They are the fun characters in Jack ‘n Jill Chooey’s animated TV commercial about kids’ play adventures while they’re enjoying the chocolate’s chewy and delicious flavours in Choco—chewy butterscotch caramel coated in rich chocolate, and Toffee—chewy butter toffee coated in rich chocolate.
URC and ACPI will choose ten (10) outstanding animated short film concepts for the final round. The finalists will receive funds which they can use to render their ideas to actual animated films and they will have the privilege to be mentored by renowned practitioners in the film animation industry.
A total of five awards will be given to the top animated short films. Winners can receive as much as Php100,000 cash prize and represent their school with pride.
