It’s an exciting time at World Citi Medical Center and residents of Quezon City and its vicinity areas have a big reason to be happy as World Citi Med has unveiled its newly renovated pediatric floor located on the 7th floor of the hospital building. This renovation is very important to ensure that World Citi Med will be able to provide incomparable pediatric services to the community. It is this dedication to give optimal care and compassion in an environment that was designed with kids in mind that will guarantee the success of World Citi Medical Center’s latest facility upgrade.
Last May 23, we were fortunate to be invited in the simple yet sincere launch ceremony of the Pediatrics Floor of World Citi Med.
The event started with an opening prayer by Dr. Grace Annabelle Navarro, WCM’s Professional Values and Ethics Development Director. The host of ceremony was Dr. Kristine Marie Gutierrez, the Training Officer of the Pediatric Department, and after the opening prayer, she addressed the members of the Management Team who were all present that day:

After this, World CitiMed CEO Mr. Raymond Patrick Guico addressed the Medical Director Dr. Margarita Santella-Jara who led the ribbon cutting ceremony.

After the ribbon cutting, Reverend Cleophas Maurice B. Villareiz took the floor to lead the dedication ceremony. Knowing that the hospital seeks spiritual blessings from a Higher Power made us feel that the pediatric floor will really be a place of comfort and healing.

Then, it was time to see the whole pediatric floor. We were given the freedom to explore and see all the rooms and the facilities. As we walked along the halls, we saw big photos of beautiful children hanging all around the area. There was an area for visitors where kids are free to read books and play with toys; these all are locked inside a cabinet which shall be accessible through the assistance of a dedicated pediatric floor nurse keeping these items in sterile conditions. The reception area looks like a candy store complete with a Ferris wheel and colorful paintings. Kids will surely find delight in Ellie, the caring elephant, standing by the powder blue couch ready to welcome everyone to #WorldCitiMed Pediatrics Floor!

Rooms
There are 24 rooms located in the Pediatric Floor and each of these is decorated with a kid-friendly, playful and colorful themes. We haven’t seen any other hospital, at least in QC, with the same kind of detail just for the pleasure of the patients. The beds, furniture and appliances inside the rooms will make you feel that you are checked-in at a hotel. Surely, any child or teen will feel delighted to stay in any of these rooms and not be afraid while they are being cared for.
Even the parents or guardians of the patients will feel comfortable here. The television in each room is huge, the air conditioners are the best, and the hospital food—we couldn’t help feeling hungry when we saw the carefully and thoughtfully-prepared food by the hospital’s dietary department displayed inside the rooms.

Each room has key card-enabled doors for better security
Most of the rooms have their own spacious comfort rooms which are clean and fresh for use. These comfort rooms have hot and cold showers too.
We were presented with the rates of the rooms in the Pediatric floor and we were quite amazed. All these comforts are priced for P1,500/day for Ward, P2,750/day for the Regular Private and P4,000/day which are economically right-sized for parents who want enviable health care without breaking the bank.

Patients have their own spacious comfort room with hot and cold shower.
Staff
One thing we noticed was how comfortable Management team and staff were with each other and how they call each other via first name basis or their nick names. This means good rapport amongst the people the patients will see every day. Having warm persons to take care of the patients will make the patients feel more at home and recuperate faster because they will feel they are not just patients, but someone who are valued.

With the renovation of the World Citi Med’s pediatric floor, we will not be surprised if World Citi Med will fast rise up as one of the leading pediatric hospitals in Quezon City.
Despite the obvious, we asked CEO Raymond Patrick Guico of the value-for-money parents will get when they choose World Citi Med for their children’s medical needs. Mr. Guico said (non-verbatim) that all these improvements were made to inspire kids and take away their fear of the hospital. It will be a place where our children will feel at ease, happy and joyful. And despite the major improvements they made to the pediatric floor, they did not add a single centavo to their rates.

For us, this sincere idea to make our children comfortable while they get the best medical service they can get, the kind of caring that we parents may not provide, all these will be enough to make World Citi Med a perfect place to bring them to when the need arises. With their “BIG CARE for Little Ones” mission, we can be assured of the quality of care our child will get that will be worth way more than what we pay.
