I’ve been a Daiso Japan shopper for years, mainly in Trinoma. After going to Sunday mass, we usually go to the mall and before going home, I’ll stop by Daiso Japan to check what’s new or if I need anything for my blog or the kids’ school projects. Most items in Daiso cost P88 and if they have promos, you’ll often get 50% discounts or buy 1 take 1. When I got the opportunity to visit another branch just last week, I grabbed it because I’m very sure I’ll enjoy shopping in any branch of Daiso Japan.
It turned out that the event was for the launch of a brand new flagship store of Daiso Japan in Robinsons Galleria at the 3rd level of the mall. And to celebrate its opening, Daiso Japan invited media guests to a bento making workshop with the mommy blogger behind Nanay’s Lunches with Love, Lourdes Vindollo-Labii. The event was short and fun as I got to try making bento again after quite a long time.
Bento making is a Japanese art of making packed lunches, a popular hobby embraced by many moms in the Philippines because of the kawaii (Japanese term for “cute”) characters.
It was a fun-filled day being able to visit Robinsons Galleria which I haven’t done for a long time, seeing again some mommy blogger friends, meeting new acquaintances, and learning new tricks in bento making. I even won a gift prize by guessing (actually, Googling one of the questions in the trivia contest). I answered “hanami” which is the Japanese term for the popular “cherry-blossoms festival”.
But the highlight of the day was the appearance of the beloved character of all girly-girls : Hello Kitty! Why was Hello Kitty there? Because Daiso Japan has a line of Hello Kitty-themed products inside their stores. You know how expensive some Hello Kitty branded items are but in Daiso Japan, you can find a lot of affordable Hello Kitty cosmetics and gift items.
And then it was shopping time! Daiso Japan’s flagship store in Robinsons Galleria was inspired from the lovely Japanese flower, the Sakura or cherry blossom. The upgraded store was clean with the white, pink, a mixture of wood and stainless, storage racks, fill up the store. The store’s pink accents perfectly complement the cute and functional items on display which range from home and kitchen essentials to stationery products. Moms will definitely have a great time shopping here because the items are not only affordable but of quality too. I’ve learned that Daiso Japan has over 3,000 stores now all over the world which makes it possible to provide high-quality products with lesser price tags. Check the video below to see some of the merchandise inside the store when I went shopping!
