Moms like me are well aware how much better in terms of everything (price, quality, quantity and nutrition) freshly home cooked food are than processed food. But we are also aware that most ingredients for our “lutong-bahay” can be best bought in fresh/wet markets. This is a great problem for most of us who, for lack of the terms to use, “doesn’t have too much time” to actually go to a wet market to buy ingredients. Like in my case, as a working mom who works two full-time shifts in a day, it will already be a luxury for me to wake up early in the morning and just walk to anywhere I want to.
Fresh and wet markets offer fresh goods better than supermarkets because it is where producers directly deliver their products. Vegetables, fruits, meat and most specially seafood. But if you are a usual patron of wet markets, you already know that it is usually in the earliest times of day when all these goods are being delivered and priced cheaply, like as early as 3AM. Who wakes up as early as that or if ever you wake up that early, you’ll have the morning time surely allotted to other tasks at home.
I found out that our wet market problems are already solved by honestbee, the online shopping app of the century. I’ve tried this app for many times but I used it to shop in Robinsons Supermarket and S&R. I just found out that users have already an option to shop from the leading fresh markets in the metro such as Farmers Market in Cubao, Alabang Wet Market, Pasig City Mega Market, and in Cebu from Carbon Public Market and Taboan Public Market. Isn’t this wonderful?
There’s no excuse now not to be able to cook freshly home-cooked meals! We can plan our menus in advance and then have the shopperbees of honestbee buy for us on the day we need our fresh ingredients. I’ve personally seen how honestbee shopperbees go to the market and buy all the ingredients their app customers ordered. I’ve managed a couple of minutes of video while Ate Lerma (the shopperbee assigned to our group on the blogger’s market visit that day) went on to find the ingredients on her customer’s list.
There are also official partner retailers inside the market where the shopperbees get their produces. You can spot them easily because they have this honestbee sign as a partner store. This is a good thing because customers will be assured that the products they get came from stores that were recognized by honestbees, hindi yung kung kanino lang.
After we went to the market, we’ve tasted how fresh and of great quality the produces that were bought by Ate Lerma and the rest of the shopperbees. We went to Romulos where the ingredients were brought and cooked. We had a sumptuous lunch with all those cooked dishes made with the freshest ingredients. Kahit na gaano kagaling ang nagluluto, if the ingredients are not good enough, the dishes won’t taste good.
As of October 27, Alabang Wet Market and Pasig City Mega Market are already available on honestbee.
Download the honestbee app for free on Apple App Store or Google Play Store and sign up for an account. For more info, visit www.honestbee.ph
Ang quirky naman nung serving ng fresh tilapia! Sana we have honestbee din dito sa provinces, para pag tinatamad akong lumabas ng bahay at mamalengke eh solve agad ang problema ko. 🙂
I agree that the quality of the food affects the taste, especially sa fish. Galing ng Honestbee, truly a busy mom’s BFF.
I always love wet Market. I like to buy fresh veggies and meat there. Only that now, it has been years since I visited a wet market. I lacked interest since I gave birth to my fifth. And speaking of food, Romulo cafe is one of those fave diners.
Wow, this is best for mums who are not really to adept at getting the best products from the wet market. It will save busy mums time for grocery shopping which they can otherwise devote to tending and looking after the kids or beating work-from-home deadlines. I just hope I can also avail of this service from Honestbee here in Bulacan.
Honestly, I don’t shop at the wet market anymore. I just have a hard time navigating and choosing the best produce. Now that there’s a service like honestbee I won’t have to! Do they cater to the far north yet? I hope they do or will soon. I do miss having fish! It’s just not as fresh in the supermarket.
Wow! I didn’t know Honestbee did this. Naka try kami before with them, but we ordered groceries from Robinsons and had it delivered when we stayed there in BGC area. Love this option especially like us don’t have cars and hate the traffic but love to get fresh ingredients and at slightly mura na prices (vs supermarkets).
Galing that Honest Bee does wet market delivery na rin! How I wish may Honest Bee na rin dito sa Davao huhu
Honest bee to the rescue talaga!
Galing, pati wet market cater na ni honest bee. But me personally I buy veggies and sea foods sa palengke talaga. Agree ako sayo mommy hindi masarap tilapia pag frozen na mas maganda n buhay pa bibilhin
