The Real California Milk LegenDairy Milk Fair 2019

It has been a busy summer vacation this year for my kids but we did not let this event pass without seeing it. After all, it’s the LegenDairy Milk Fair of the year!

love the cookie milk dips her!

It was held at Whitespace Manila in Makati, the venue was huge and there were several booths that highlighted different dairy products and recipes. We were there after lunch so we easily got full of all the food samples. Ang dami! There were sweet milk dips, milk shakes, yogurt samples, bacon mac and cheese, and milk drinks with hints of alcohol. Our friend Chef Alvin Ong who I met at the US Potato Safari 6 mostly created the samplers and they were so good. I even got the bacon mac and cheese from him. I’d definitely try it and will share you the recipe soon in this blog.

They’ve also got games for the kids and I even got to play the giant Jenga game with my daughter.

But the best part for us was the cheese-making session. We made our own ricotta cheese and it was easy as heating the milk to a certain temperature, putting lemon or vinegar and letting the milk curdle. The resulting curdle or the solid part you get after filtering the milk became the ricotta cheese. It was creamy like kesong puti.

The milk products and yogurt at the Legendairy Milk Fair all bear the Real California Milk seal which promotes the milk industry in California. The organization behind is the California Milk Advisory Board (CMAB), which also created the very successful Real California Cheese Seal. I got to try their delicious cheese variety and shared it also in this blog previously. You can read it here : The Real California Chesse Difference.

I do hope that we get to participate again in events like these. They are not just fun but they also give us great and healthy alternatives in products we buy from the market.

I recently cut dairy out of my diet (in recent years, I’ve become dairy intolerant), but cheese has been such a difficult thing for me to part ways with. Seeing all this is so tempting! :'(
