If you haven’t had any kind of sisig yet, it’s a Filipino dish made of crispy fried pig’s head and chicken liver. However, because we all loved this dish so much, so many varieties of sisig already came out. My favorite is the classic pork and sisig but this time, I tried this squid sisig for a change.
I always tell my husband and my kids that for us to be healthy, we need to eat a balanced diet and that we try to eat different ulam, always veggies, minsan chicken, minsan pork and minsan seafood.
Tonight, I tried serving them Squid Sisig using SeaKing PH Squid Bits and I was more than satisfied. This can easily be an appetizer or a dish in itself. It’s easy to cook and like other Seaking products, I can stock it in the freezer for months and the squid bits are still fresh and tender.
Recipe:
1 300g Seaking Squid Bits
2 medium red onion sliced
2 pcs siling haba (if u want it to be spicier, use siling labuyo instead)
1/4 cup soysauce
2 tbsp liquid seasoning
2 pcs red bellpepper
1/4 tsp ground pepper
cooking oil or butter for frying
2-4pcs Calamansi
Marinade squid bits in soysauce, liquid seasoning and pepper for at least 10 mins.
Saute onion, siling haba and bellpepper. Add the marinated squid.
Cook till the squid looks opaque and remove from fire.
Drain the liquid.
Fry again using 2 tsp cooking oil or butter until a little bit crispy.
Remove from heat, drizzle with calamansi and serve.

Kamusta ka na. Although I probably wouldn’t eat this because I am a vegetarian, I would eat the vegetables. Your food is amazing. Please share more desserts. Remind me not to look at your blog when I am starving. I love your blog.
I’d never heard of this dish! As a vegetarian, it doesn’t appeal to me. But it’s always fascinating to learn about international dishes!
