Are you insured or have you ever tried to get insurance for yourself or for your family? Despite the fact that “insurance” is a very searchable word on the internet, I can still count on my fingers the people I know who are actually insured. Heck, I still have to find something better for my family. The least we have are the prepaid and short term insurances I got from blogging events while I’ve also just started getting insurance when we travel.
To cut it short, I think many Filipinos wish to be insured. Who doesn’t want to have the security to have someone to back you up financially during emergencies? Don’t say that because Filipinos can’t pay for insurance. They can. How can milk tea businesses and online shopping deals thrive that much if Filipinos can’t pay even for small-term insurance?
The problem most of the time why many of us don’t have insurances despite the fact that we need it is because of:
1. ineligibility – most insurances I’ve read about either require that you are employed or that they require too many documents
2. the insurances are not that accessible – sometimes you just don’t know where to go, or if an insurance company has a website, they are too complicated to read
3. high premiums – many insurance companies who have lavish websites offer insurances with high premiums, and sadly, they don’t even put the premium amount on their website. You’ll just find out once you’ve talked to their agents.
But this is about to change, fortunately. Now that Cebuana Lhuillier has an insurance brokerage arm Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Brokers, Inc. (CLIB), Filipinos will have better access to more inclusive and affordable insurance products and services.
CLIB aims to bring prospective insurance providers and buyers together through different touchpoints, including the eCebuana mobile app and ProtectNow, a digital one-stop insurance shop which allows clients to compare the lowest prices of insurance offerings and monitor their insurance policies and claims in real-time.
The insurance broker will also bring its partner products, along with Cebuana Lhuillier’s flagship Protect Max, to some of the country’s biggest online stores, including Lazada and Shopee.
On ground, CLIB will offer products in more than 2,500 Cebuana Lhuillier branches nationwide as well as through their 6,500 domestic partner outlets, giving their insurance partners a unique advantage of establishing their presence in most urban and rural communities, which is still considered a largely untapped insurance market.
And the best news is, Cebuana Lhuillier will be offering its newest portfolio of personal, health, property, group, loan, and business and liability insurance products through CLIB. These include CL Personal Accident Basic, CL Travel Prime, CL Pamilya Max, CL Health Dengue and Leptospirosis, CL Fire, Typhoon, Flood, EQ Care, CL Drive Lite, CL Tourista Protect, CL Hotel Guest Care, CL Passenger Care, CL Employee Care Plus, CL MicroBiz Protek, CL AgriCare, and Cyber Insurance.
If you haven’t checked Cebuana Lhuillier’s website yet, they offer micro insurances including Personal Insurance with premium as low as P150/year. I can’t wait to see what the new types of products that CB will be offering, insurance products that have higher benefits but still flexible and affordable.
Again, congratulations Cebuana Lhuillier for this great endeavor! May your company prosper for many, many more years to come.

insurance is the risk cover, so every one should think about it seriously and avail the services of Cebuana Lhuillier…….
I only have micro-savings with them. I just hope I can deposit thru other payment methods. It’s a hassle to visit CL branch, fall in line with the other customers. I am thinking of getting an insurance in the near future. I need to save more. Haha!
