Hotdog and Pancake Twist

Posted on Mar 25 2020 - 2:27am by tweenselmom

Hotdogs and pancakes will be everyone’s favorite when it comes to breakfast combos. And since I’ll surely be cooking lots of them this vacation, I thought to make some interesting changes to how to present them.

Ingredients

8 medium-length hotdogs
8 bbq sticks
100 grams Maya hotcake mix
3 tbs water
oil for deep-frying
*if you want to save on cooking oil and doesn’t want to deep-fry, microwave your hotdogs for a couple of minutes in low heat to pre-cook

How To Twirl

  • Insert a bbq stick in a hotdog
  • Using a small knife, make a continuous diagonal slit in the hotdog while twisting it
  • To make the pancake dough, mix 100 grams of hotcake mix in a bowl with 3 tbsp water
  • Mash and roll the dough using your clean hands until you form a ball of dough and the bowl is clean.
  • Slice the dough into 8 pieces.
  • Roll each piece to an elongated dough and twist along the slits of the hotdog.
  • Deep fry your hotdogs or if you have already pre-cooked them, fry the hotdogs and pancake twist until done. Don’t overcook as the pancake can burn easily.
  • Serve hot with your favorite sauce (ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard)

What a fun way to make hotdogs. It’s almost like corndogs. This works great for people who likes more hotdog and less bread. 🙂

This is so different. A hot dog and pancake kebab. It is no different than piggie in a blanket which is hotdog wrapped in a pancake. But this is a different twist
