It’s two years in a row that we are celebrating birthdays at home. Since we were used to going out and dining out, even with the extended family, we were a little bit sad that the pandemic is still so much present and we still have to quarantine ourselves.
But there are still so many reasons to celebrate and the most important is that we are still here, thriving. Life is always worth celebrating and thus, no matter where the place is where we choose to eat and be merry, we should be grateful for the opportunity.
And I am particularly grateful to the stores and the people who made our celebrations happier with their balloons, cakes and food. The four of us were so full, the food tastes fantastic and the balloons and cakes were yummy and colorful.
Cakes – I ordered cakes from Cravings and what I love about this store is that though they are so popular, they are still so accommodating and really made my life easy. They personally chat with me and ask what I need. And one time I had to make some changes to my orders and they still accommodated my request. They don’t have these so many forms or questions to ask, unlike other cake stores I’ve checked out. I thought with so many cake sellers out there, good customer service is really a must.
The chocolate caramel cake for our wedding anniversary was so divine and delicious. The caramel tastes like my favorite “yema”. The cake was so big and I had to give half of it to relatives while we had the other half. I stored the leftovers for almost a week and it still is moist and delicious. For Mariel’s birthday cake, you see how colorful it is, it’s because Mariel wanted it exactly like this one. I asked her days before so I’d have an idea and I asked Cravings if they can make it for Mariel. I think this is the trend cake design now in Korea. I’ve asked around in some other cake stores making cakes like these but they took so long to answer. Cravings made the cake exactly how I requested it and added some sparkle candles along with it. And of course my daughter was very happy. ( Cake price: P1350 – 8 inch cake- customized, cake flavor : confetti )
Food – I also ordered from Cravings for our wedding anniversary. And we were so satisfied. I ordered these: (all small orders but they have bigger servings of course)
American Baked Spareribs – sooo tender and yummy (P250)

Maple Glazed Salmon – (P400) – my husband’s all time favorite

Lengua Con Champignon (P350) – first time to try this but super tender and yummy, I have to order this again!)
For Mariel’s so pretty balloon, imagine I ordered it the day before Mariel’s birthday and it was delivered the same day. I had to request to have it delivered that day so our birthday celebrant would see it as soon as she wakes up. And she did and was so thankful for her balloon. You know how teens like these cutesy stuff. I found Graceful Party Balloons PH on Instagram and fell in love with their balloon photos. Although they have so small followings in IG, I thought to give it a try. And so I wasn’t disappointed.
The big transparent hot air balloon themed design with golden custom message and 12 Ferrero Rocher costed P1500 excluding shipping fee.
