I had this problem today when the CTRL button on my keyboard is acting weird. Whenever I click it, it goes directly to the browser. CTRL button is very important for me because I always copy-paste when working. Maybe I clicked or typed something accidentally which triggered a change or update on my keyboard or computer settings.
So I tried to find a forum on how to solve it and voila! I found one and so I am sharing this here or if in case I forget it in the future.
The solution was to refresh the Human Interface Device by doing the ff steps:
- Press Windows + R then type services.msc
- Click Human Interface Devices service, select properties and change the startup type as Manual then stop and start the service.
- In my case, it didn’t work when I clicked start. I just retained Stop and my CTRL button worked perfectly well again.
I hope this helps if ever you find this problem in the future.
