If there’s any celebration that makes me feel like a young mom, it’s Halloween. More than Christmas and New Year which is more about families, Halloween always bring me fun memories with my cousins when I was in my young age. Growing up without siblings and complete parents, my cousins were my companions and playmates back then and I could remember how we watched Magandang Gabi Bayan with Noli De Castro back then every All Soul’s Day.
I also remember those days when we collect candle wax from each other’s houses and how my elder aunts will drive us away. We would also play hide and seek during the night and then tell horror stories together till late evening.
I guess I brought those fun memories of Halloween now that I became a mom in sort of more different ways. I like to organize Halloween parties and make ghoulish treats whenever I have time to spare. And whenever I look at the photos of other moms doing all these creative treats, my heart is filled with delight.
It’s a little bit early yet but might as well write an entry in my blog about Halloween 2021 before I am overwhelmed with work and stuff again. So I made these simple open sandwiches using Fuwa Fuwa breads (they have these small sliced breads that I found really cute), and cheese spread Arla and some scraps from my husband’s breakfast (eggs, cheese, ham and cut-outs from cucumber, I realized I threw my nori wrapper a few days ago)
These are not scary at all but they gave me the vibe that I need to feel the fun of Halloween coming again. I know there will be lots of virtual halloween parties coming soon and I hope we get to try one of those. Here are some of the first ones I saw.
Toys R’ Us Virtual Halloween Party
Crimson Hotel Virtual Halloween Party
Madison Events World of Magic Halloween Party
Bellevue Kids Club KPOP Halloween Party
What about you? What are your plans for this coming Halloween 2021?
