When I saw the limited edition Jack ‘n Jill Nips Color Series , I got excited with the colors. Nips is a favorite at home, mine is the Fruit and Nut variant, while my girls like the classic multi-colored variant. Since it has been a while since I baked cookies, I thought to surprise my kids with some colorful Nips Cookies which they can nibble while they do their assignments. I just used a basic butter cookie recipe with the colorful Nips on top.  Each pack of this limited edition treat contains single-colored button-shaped candies...

How is your Valentine’s Day so far? Me, it started sweet, with me waking up with a huge Toblerone on my working table and a sweet note from my Valentino. I did not buy anything for him but I thought cooking breakfast made with some more effort and then some sweet whisper of a night to look forward to, will be irresistible for him. I made some heart shaped pancakes and a heart shaped egg using an P88 peso heartshaped pan from Japan Homes. Cooking pancakes is a no-brainer but cooking them in a tiny sheet-thin pan needs some wit. I...

I have a can of Jolly fruit cocktail left from last Christmas and so I thought to try this recipe. I had to make it with chocolate graham crackers to make it more appealing to my kids, who won’t refuse anything chocolate. This will be win win for all of us (kids and adults) because it has fruits, it’s a cold dessert, and it’s chocolatey. Crema De Fruta – Jolly Fruit Cocktail on top, it looks syrupy but it’s clear gelatin on top My Masflex Saucepan – which I mainly used for this recipe. It’s a stainless...

Chopsuey is the quickest dish I can cook at home when I feel like serving lots of veggies for lunch or dinner. I usually buy a pack of pre-cut assorted vegetables from the grocery, wash them, and sautee them with spring onions and garlic, and meat (either lean ground pork or shredded, left-over chicken meat). But recently, I found a way to make my chopsuey much more creamy and lovely to eat. I say lovely because we love to top it over rice because of the creaminess. The secret? A can of Jolly Cream of Mushroom Condensed Soup. Easy right?...

I know you’ll agree that as years pass by, providing healthy food on the family table is getting more difficult. Why? Vegetables are getting more limited as the weather becomes unfriendly to our crops, thus making our favorite veggies very expensive. Sometimes, the “sayote” I buy, are cheap but sometimes they become steep. Don’t mention potatoes, oh my, they are so expensive these days. Gone are the days when you say vegetables are affordable. I can hardly make salads these days. Then, consider the number of new...

Pesto pasta, I just found out, is one of many’s favorite alternative pasta dish from the usual red sauce and white sauce pasta. But most of us only eat pesto pasta from Italian restaurants or spaghetti houses. Luckily, Contadina makes it easy for us moms now to make our own pesto pasta dishes. I was just craving for that pesto taste when I saw my Contadina Pesto sitting comfortably on my pantry. And since I also have a stock of Jolly mushrooms, and a brick of Eden cheese, but all my meat were frozen, I thought why not make a no-meat...

The kids will be back to school tomorrow and we will be officially back to business. Work at home, house chores and the usual stuff. Before we plunge in, I let my husband satisfy his curiosity in this vintage shop he was eyeing for so long to visit. It was somewhere K-1st Street near Kamuning Northwest Estate and Collectibles. You may click the name to be directed to its Facebook page. It was a house open to public and it was filled with vintage LPs, cds, casette tapes, toys, cards, comics and a little bit of home stuff like jars, salt...

Here’s a recipe I learned from the cooking bootcamp I recently attended, the Masflex Kitchen Camp. You may have tasted that glorious crepe cake in your favorite cake shop but it was quite pricey. Guess what, you can make your own, in colors that you like. With the right kitchen tool, making your own crepe cake is possible. And you know what, the frosting in this recipe is delicious, and the ingredients are super simple. Masflex Kitchen Camp was a very informative kitchen bootcamp hosted by popular chef, Masflex Ambassador and Adobo...
