It’s seldom that you receive a gift like this. Something which can make you swoon because you feel special upon receiving it. I wish every deserving woman in the world can get a box like this. Why? Because being a woman is not easy. In this world when there are a thousand kind of standards to meet, we can hardly keep up even with just a dozen. But who said we even have to follow standards, right? It’s exactly what Dove’s #RealBeauty Is Universal is all about. That we should celebrate our uniqueness, our own beauty, and...

I have a can of Jolly fruit cocktail left from last Christmas and so I thought to try this recipe. I had to make it with chocolate graham crackers to make it more appealing to my kids, who won’t refuse anything chocolate. This will be win win for all of us (kids and adults) because it has fruits, it’s a cold dessert, and it’s chocolatey. Crema De Fruta – Jolly Fruit Cocktail on top, it looks syrupy but it’s clear gelatin on top My Masflex Saucepan – which I mainly used for this recipe. It’s a stainless...

Itchy scalp and dandruff had been our ongoing problem at home. My husband fortunately has a healthy scalp and he has less hair (semi-kalbo). But me, I have long hair which is not thick naman but I have this hormone issues when my scalp gets too dry due to stress or the weather. My eldest daughter has a very thick hair and she sweats a lot. Most of the times, I see her scratching her head and told her to make sure that she’s washing her hair and scalp properly. Sometimes, the dandruff will go away, sometimes our scalps are itchy and...

When my daughters were toddlers and before they reach age seven, playing kiddie games with them was pretty regular for us. We have kiddie parties at home, lots of singing, dancing and laughing when we are together. Even when we are with our in-laws, we all spend time listening to our little kids’ babbles and giggles. Oh how time flies so fast, and so we all say. Now, my two girls are grown up and some things have changed. Aside from the physical changes, they of course, do not want to play the same games as before. They also do not...

It’s not about who we sleep at night but who we wake up with in the morning. Yes, I agree to that. I remember that I only actually started sleeping in bed with my husband when my youngest child turned 5, actually when she turned 10, because in the years in between, I alternately sleep in my daughter’s bedroom and the master’s bedroom. And when she turned 10, my daughter had already advanced to a more matured stage when all she wants in her room are her K-POP posters. Hayyy. But you know what, my husband’s relationship...

Me, with my eldest, who is now a tween. We were just blessed then that I had healthy pregnancy and my CS delivery was successful with the help of my OB, Pedia and my loving husband. But life as a new mom back then will be much easier if I had known more and there were more available help. If I can turn back time, when I was pregnant with my first child, I wish I had just been pregnant in this decade. My pregnancy with my eldest was like groping in the dark, and my husband and I had just relied on my ob-gyne and pediatrician. We made sure...

Chopsuey is the quickest dish I can cook at home when I feel like serving lots of veggies for lunch or dinner. I usually buy a pack of pre-cut assorted vegetables from the grocery, wash them, and sautee them with spring onions and garlic, and meat (either lean ground pork or shredded, left-over chicken meat). But recently, I found a way to make my chopsuey much more creamy and lovely to eat. I say lovely because we love to top it over rice because of the creaminess. The secret? A can of Jolly Cream of Mushroom Condensed Soup. Easy right?...

I know you’ll agree that as years pass by, providing healthy food on the family table is getting more difficult. Why? Vegetables are getting more limited as the weather becomes unfriendly to our crops, thus making our favorite veggies very expensive. Sometimes, the “sayote” I buy, are cheap but sometimes they become steep. Don’t mention potatoes, oh my, they are so expensive these days. Gone are the days when you say vegetables are affordable. I can hardly make salads these days. Then, consider the number of new...
