The first time I’ve read about Nickelodeon SlimeFest coming to Manila, I’ve already pinned it as an event that we wouldn’t miss. First, I consider myself a kid-at-heart and I remember Nickelodeon as a happy childhood thing and Spongebob and the gang, our family favorite cartoon character is a Nickelodeon character. I also know from previous SlimeFests that happened in other countries that it was always a much-awaited music festival. We’ve always loved music and we thought this is the perfect time to watch music concerts as a family.
We really attract what we always think of and that was why it didn’t take long before I got an invitation to see the event with the kids. And you know what? It was indeed Slimetastic! We were not able to join in the slime pit as we were not prepared to be slimed! And we regretted it!
Manila’s SlimeFest was a full-day event opened for all ages with a free admission festival area from 11 AM to 5 PM. The area featured unique and engaging experiences for the whole family including photo-ops with Nickelodeon characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, PAW Patrol, and Dora the Explorer.
All the characters, unfortunately, appeared early and we missed them all, how sad. So we just contented ourselves taking photos of the walls. Oh, well!
The moment the arena turned dark, that was when the party for us began. The temperature got cooler and the wind was pleasant. There were plenty of booths offering food and merchant products like Nickelodeon shirts and bags. And then the musical festival happened, with the much-awaited music celebrities appearing one by one.
