Even though my kids are all grown up, there’s something about Halloween that still fills me with excitement. Every year, when I see the stores starting to fill up with spooky decorations, adorable costumes, and baskets full of candy, it brings me back to those special days when my kids were little.

I remember the fun of picking out their costumes—princesses, superheroes, witches—and the anticipation in their eyes as they prepared for trick-or-treating. We’d spend hours carving pumpkins, decorating the house, and planning the best routes to get the most candy. Halloween was always such a joyous time, not just because of the treats, but because of the memories we created together as a family.
Even though my kids are no longer the ones running around in costumes, Halloween remains one of my favorite holidays. When I stroll through stores now, I still feel that same rush of excitement. Seeing the shelves lined with tiny witch hats, bat wings, and pumpkin baskets brings back a flood of memories. It’s a reminder of the happy chaos we used to enjoy, and it fills my heart with warmth.
What makes it even more special now is seeing the little kids who are just starting to experience the magic of Halloween. Whether it’s the neighborhood kids stopping by in their cute costumes or seeing families at the mall getting into the Halloween spirit, it gives me a sense of joy to witness the next generation making their own memories. The laughter, the giggles, and the excitement on their faces take me back to those days when my own kids were that age.
Halloween isn’t just for the young ones; it’s for us moms too. Even if our kids are grown up, we can still cherish the joy and fun that this season brings. It’s a reminder of the simple pleasures in life—like dressing up, enjoying a little spookiness, and watching children’s imaginations run wild. So, while I may not be sewing costumes or walking kids from house to house anymore, Halloween will always have a special place in my heart.
As long as there are kids out there trick-or-treating, and stores filled with pumpkins and cobwebs, Halloween will forever remind me of those wonderful, happy days spent with my little ones. And that’s enough to keep me excited year after year. 🎃
