12th Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run

Robinsons Supermarket Wellness Buddy Run is one of our most anticipated fitness events of the year, at least in my family. Why? Because it is a fun event where you won’t be intimidated by other participants. Everyone just wants to join and finish the 5km and 10km run.

As we are not professional runners (I can’t event say we are amateurs, hahah), we just take this event as an opportunity to join other fitness enthusiasts and finish a goal. 5km is now easy for us to finish since the kids are grown up and we also walk as part of an exercise routine on weekdays.

And last Sunday July 7, the 12th Fit and Fun Wellness Buddy Run was held in Camp Aguinaldo. Different types of running pairs- parents and kids, siblings, best friends, workmates, neighbors and even senior citizens, were there to take their health goals to the next level.

Robinsons Supermarket has been an advocate of fun and fitness for years and they have launched so many events to help families in getting fit and live a healthier lifestyle. I am just glad that we have been part of those events as they indeed helped us be more aware of what we eat, of the status of our fitness, and we got closer to each other as my husband and I try to teach and bond with our daughters through the activities that Robinsons Supermarket launched.

Aside from offering a great way to bond with families and friends, Robinsons Supermarket Wellness Buddy Run rewarded the 5k race top finishers with 6 months-worth of groceries and healthy freebies while the 2nd and 3rd place finishers received Robinsons Supermarket Gift Certificates. The 10k race top podium finishers received one year worth of groceries while the 2nd and 3rd went home with Robinsons Supermarket gift certificates too.

After the race, loot bags filled with healthy freebies for everyone! And the booths of major sponsors Wyeth, Abbot, Nestle Philippines, Johnson & Johnson and Unilab gave generous supplies of giveaways. Ang dami ko ngayon ulit stocks ng medicines, vitamins, baby products and food products. As I am writing, my breakfast is a Ligo sardines in wheat bread. Yum!
