Have you used your slow cooker lately? I just did. I had this craving for some sweet, smoky ribs with meat falling off from the bone. Thanks to my tiny slow-cooker, I just bought a couple of fresh pork ribs from the grocery, the pink ones, marinated them in the morning, slow-cooked in the afternoon and they were ready for dinner for the four of us.
If you are having the same craving, then why don’t you try this simple recipe. The flavor may not that be complicated as the ones in the restaurants but I’m sure you’ll love yourself a little more, and you’ll get compliments from the rest of your family too, once they tasted this.
Ingredients
4 medium-sized fresh pork ribs – I had them already sliced from the rack in the grocery
1 cup Hunts Original BBQ sauce
1/2 cup oyster sauce
2 cloves of garlic, peeled and chopped to tiny bits
1/2 cup brown sugar
ground pepper – up to you on how peppery you’d like it to be, but 1/2 tsp was just enough for me
Mix everything together except for the ribs.
Marinade ribs into the mixture overnight or at least 4-6 hours.
Slow-cook meat with the marinade mixture, set to high for 4 hours.
Serve hot over white/brown rice. Garnish with parsley or green onion leaves.
