We’ve long waited for Robinsons Supermarket and I guess, a hundred more runners felt the same. That was why despite the heavy downpour of water in the early morning last July 8, it was very obvious that the event was a success. Hundreds of running pairs were at the parade grounds of Camp Aguinaldo as early as 5 am and these pairs were of different types : parents and kids, siblings, lolos and their apos, loved ones, officemates, best friends, even neighbors—competing in the 5K and 10K races. The fun run is in line with Robinsons Supermarket’s wellness commitment to continuously encourage more people to choose and live healthier lifestyles.
Presented by Robinsons Supermarket, the 11th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run 5K race offered a top prize of a trip for 2 to Siargao with 3 days/2 nights hotel accommodation while 2nd and 3rd placers get Php8,000 worth of Robinsons gift certificates. For 10K race podium finishers, the top prize includes a trip for 2 to Hong Kong with 3 days/2 nights hotel accommodation while 2nd and 3rd placers get Php15,000 worth of Robinsons gift certificates.
All four of us, kids and hubby, all went to support this event and I’m just happy that the kids were actually excited to run. We are all enthusiastic on keeping ourselves fit as my husband and I always tell my kids that exercise is a very important part of a healthy lifestyle. It’s not only about the food we eat but also how we keep ourselves moving.
Although we were not able to actually run that day (we opted to stay in the covered area), we had a chance to move and have fun through the short program held for the attendees. Celebrity guests like Drew Arellano and my favorite fitness coach Toni Saret were there!

When the rain stopped, we visited the brand partners booths that surrounded the area. Lots of healthy freebies were given by the brands and the line of people who joined the games and tried the food, beverages and supplement samples were endless. The people, young and old, were all tireless despite the gloomy weather.
So many runners were there pero I managed to try samples. I particularly liked this Organique Acai Berries!
After the event, every one went home with a gigantic bag of goodies from Robinsons Supermarket! The loot bags contained lots of freebies from Nestle, Johnson & Johnson, Wyeth Nutrition, Abbott Nutrition, Fonterra and Unilab. It’s like an early Christmas of loots for all the participants.

We were very glad to be able to join this event, Robinsons Supermarket’s 11th year this year, hoping that this activity will continue for many, many more years. It’s not only about the food and the goodies, but also the spirit of encouraging everyone in the family, from the youngest to the oldest members, to live a healthier lifestyle. You can’t do that just by staying at home. We all have to go out, enjoy the weather outdoors, may it be the rain or the sunshine, and get moving!
