Have you tried cooking pasta which came from abroad? The reason why I asked is because I have relatives abroad and most of them like to send us pasta they bought overseas. And most often, they come with tomato sauce! Of course, who wouldn’t love accepting their generosity, right? Recently, my aunt from Canada brought some organic pasta and organic tomato sauce for me. I immediately thought, will there be any difference?
The quickest way to know that is to cook the spaghetti right away! And so here’s my recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 500g pack of Organic Pasta (in here I used Kirkland Signature Organic Tomato Sauce)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons olive oil (Dona Elena Olive Oil is the best for this)
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup water
- Sliced Hotdogs
- 2 medium sized cans of Tomato Sauce (I used Garofalo Organic Spaghetti in here)
- 1 medium can of Jolly Mushrooms
- 2 teaspoon salt
- A dash of two or ground pepper
- Grated cheese
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to instructions on the label.
- Heat butter and olive oil together with onion and garlic in a large pot over medium heat.
- Mix in Jolly Mushrooms.
- Put ground beef or pork and then hotdogs in the onion mixture.
- Pour water and tomato sauce, mix together, and allow to simmer until cooked and thick to desired consistency.
- Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Put the spaghetti sauce on top of the pasta while it's hot. Add grated cheese on top.
The verdict? Organic pasta spaghetti tastes awesome just like the local pasta brand that we use here. The main difference is that the pasta cooked quicker than ordinary pasta, but other than that, it tastes basically the same. The organic tomato sauce tastes the same too. It’s really the ingredients of the spaghetti which will make the taste different, like the mushroom, the seasoning and me, I usually put sugar when the kids will be eating. But if it will be for my own pleasure, I’d like my spaghetti hot, sour but cheesy at the same time.
Here’s a humble photo of my spaghetti which was devoured by my kids as soon as they arrived from school. Enjoy!
