SM Fairview is a good 10-minute ride away from where I live and our family had been a witness of SM Fairview and SM Foodcourt’s changes right from start. I remember, my husband and I had our first lunch together on SM Fairview’s Foodcourt and that was when we were still not together, as in he wasn’t courting me yet 🙂
SM Foodcourt has been our favorite dining area when it comes to affordable dining (honestly) not only because it’s the nearest from home but also because there are so many choices available for us. It’s also conveniently located in front of SM Supermarket so when SM Hypermart wasn’t existing yet, we did our weekly groceries there. After that, we head straight to SM Foodcourt to have lunch or merienda.
SM Foodcourt 4-5 years ago
If my memory serves me right, SM Foodcourt hadn’t made any changes ever since or if they had made some, they were only slight changes we hardly noticed them. This time, the changes are very visible.
Tables and Chairs
Unlike the previous layout where there are metallic long chairs attached to tables, SM Foodcourt now has an open dining layout. The seats are all single and detached from the tables. Most of the tables are good for a family of four (as I saw them), but the tables can be freely rearranged by the customers to accommodate more persons.
Food Outlets
The color palette of the walls by the food outlets were changed if I remember from dirty white to light brown like with dark brown frames just like in Japanese restaurants. Some of the food outlets also have open kitchen designs which will allow customers to see how the food are being prepared.
New Food Choices
Aside from the food tenants which were already at SM Foodcourt for a very long time like Bodhi and Tropicial Hut, there are new food outlets worth checking out!
Masatami Shave Ice
I’ve seen how colorful their shaved ice and I am looking forward to have the kids taste this.
Puto Pao King
I love the puto-siopao combo. I’ve tried other puto pao brands and they are so filling.
I hope to try Puto Pao King in the near future.
Slushhh
I can’ wait to have my brains frozen with Slushhh, haha.
Lotus Biscoff Dairy Queen!
I need to have my first taste of this new DQ Flavor here in SM Foodcourt

Overall, with these changes, SM Foodcourt is still the best place in the area of Quezon City-Novaliches to bring your family for affordable and yet delicious food. See you there!
