Watching Disney On Ice – Magical Ice Festival 2015 In VIP Seats

Getting complimentary VIP tickets for the last Disney On Ice show was a dream come true for me especially the kids. Last year, we got to watch Disney On Ice 2014 on upper box seats worth P600. We totally enjoyed the show but I’ve wished we were much closer because my eyes aren’t that clear anymore. Up there, the characters’ faces were already blurred for me, and the dancing figures were a bit tiny. The kids’ visions are still perfect and so they still enjoyed the show and didn’t ask for more.

VIP Tickets this year costed P2,200 each but mind you, the area was filled up. There was something special in this show that’s why most parents were willing to spend a lot. Of course, it was the first time the ever popular sisters from Frozen would be seen Live and would perform on ice! Little girls wore costumes like they were Princess Ana and Queen Elsa.

I must say the parents did not pay for nothing because the show was truly worth it. Watching the show that close made us experience the show to the max. We were able to clearly see and appreciate the colors and sparkle of the costumes. Watching was more exciting seeing the faces of the skaters. Up there, you won’t realize that the actors perform with their best, not only through their skating acts, but with their expressions and actions. They smile and wave all throughout the show and the kids were just so delighted to see and look at them eye to eye. Some even wink and blew us kisses.

This was the first time we clearly saw the faces of the actors and actresses. They were all pretty and handsome, some were white, some Asians and some were African American. They just skate so well. From the main characters to the other supporting characters, they were all amazing and we couldn’t help thinking that they must be some sort of skating champions to be able to dance that well on ice.

Another advantage of being down there is that you will be able to get clearer photos and videos. Security personnel won’t allow you to go closer than where you sit but the distance is close enough to get better photos and videos as souvenirs. Of course, the music was more spectacular as you can feel it vibrating from your seat. Imagine the kids as they sang loudly with Elsa’s “Let It Go” and Ana’s “Love Is An Open Door.”

This video below was taken by hubby who was just so happy for us the kids enjoying the event, but more so when the dancers danced with lightsabers! We truly wish there will be Star Wars On Ice in the near future!

One disadvantage that I saw when you are not on the upperbox seats was that you can’t see the nice formation during group scenes. I remember last year, we were very amazed when there were so many skaters on ice and they formed groups and nice shapes together. This year, they had the scenes from  Belle’s Beauty and the Beast where the enchanted plates, forks and spoons served her dinner. They also had that pretty scene when Olaf dreams of Summer. I know these were two scenes where they made beautiful formations. And look at my photo of Ariel above. We were not able to see her stunt that much because the spot light was headed straight to us, we were almost blinded with the lights.

The verdict : If you have the money or the budget, go for VIP seats. But if not, we are sure your kids will still enjoy watching at least from the upperbox seats. Your last choice will be sitting on the bleachers. We’ve tried those seats too in the past and the solid bleachers will be a bit cold for small kids. They can also be too sturdy your bottoms will hurt if you don’t bring some cushions. The show will just be too far to watch but I must say that the colors and the lights will still look very nice considering the distance. It will really be up to you. As they say, live within your means but if you want to experience Disney On Ice which happens only once once a year, I suggest that you save for better seats the next time. After all, your kids will only be kids for a few years. Shows like these will linger to your memories forever.
