Raising Kids Who Cherish Their Childhood

Our children’s growing years are crucial because these are the days when they develop mentally, physically and emotionally. In short, this is the stage when they rapidly become someone apart from us. Sometimes, we worry if we are rearing them properly, if we are having shortcomings or if we are overly reacting.

As a mom of two bright girls, how do you think I know how to take care of my kids? Considering that I was brought up by my father and grandmother, I actually do not have the typical mother-father role models. So I base my parenting style through my instincts, through my experience as a kid/teener, and through my kids as we talk to each other regularly. My husband’s parenting style is another thing because he grew up in a big family with many siblings.

Though my husband and I differ in our childhood experiences, we both have one goal for our daughters, and that’s for them to be happy. We want them to remember their childhood as happy times. And you know what, as they grow up, we realize that making them happy is not that difficult. Because although it seems that they crave for so many things, new gadgets, new clothes, etcetera, we can easily dismiss those things from their minds. What’s more important for them is quantity and quality time, with us their parents, and their friends and relatives.

In an intimate parenting and child development forum sponsored by Fern Kiddimin, a brand of multivitamins for kids, I was happy to learn that we are not too far from doing the right things as parents. Children are unique from each other. They enjoy different things and they learn skills in their own time. While some kids excel in mathematics, some will excel in arts. And because of all these uniqueness, parenting will also differ for each parent.

Dra. Rita Paz De Guzman, a child development specialist, gave an interesting talk why a child’s life is both exciting and challenging, and how parents can help them develop into healthy individuals physically and mentally.

But children do have something in common and that is their need for nourishment and enough time for sleep and play so that they can reach their full growth potential.  This is where Fern Kiddimin is being recommended for parents. Fern Kiddmin is a food supplement syrup which contains essential vitamins and amino acids (chlorella, taurine and lysine) for growing and active children. Taurine and Vitamin A helps kids be mentally alert while B Complex and Lysine can stimulate a healthy appetite. Fern Kiddimin also contains Vitamin D3 for a strong bonds and muscles, and Chlorella which assist in growth.

When I remember my own childhood when my father just let me learn things on my own, I feel thankful because he might have been not  there for me hundred per cent all the time, but he was always there when I needed him. I did not grow up rich but I do not feel deprived,  and most importantly, my father was the one who first introduced me about the need of knowing about God and the Bible.

Our children will be kids only for a short time so it’s important that we take advantage of these years when they are strong and thirsty for attention and knowledge. What we can do as parents is to give them the leeway to find their own path while we sustain them with a healthy diet, the right vitamin supplement, and faith that they will grow up healthy and wise as they follow our guidance.

Let your kids live their childhood to the fullest – with Fern Kiddimin, “Ang Sarap Maging Kid”. It’s recommended for kids age 2-12 years old. It is also available in 120 mL bottle at Php 158.00, and 60 mL at Php 88.00 in selected drugstores and FERN Kiosks nationwide.
