If you haven’t discovered how amazing puff pastries are, then here’s your chance to see it. I’ve always loved Danish pastries so I made some tarts using peaches (my favorite canned fruit) and cinnamon (my favorite spice). That’s the beauty of being comfortable in your own kitchen sometimes. You can just whip up something that your taste bud wishes, rather than buying expensive ones.
This recipe is really easy to do and you can serve it whenever you like, may it be a hot summer out there (pair it with vanilla ice cream) or if it’s chilling cold season (pair it with brewed coffee or tea).
Ingredients
- 1 pack of store-bought square puff pastries
- 1 can of peaches in heavy syrup (Jolly Peaches)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1 tsp clear vanilla flavoring
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (Peotraco)
- 1 tbsp milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400F.
- Arrange your puff pastries on a square baking tray.
- Drain peaches out of the can and store some of the syrup.
- Slice peaches into 1/4 thick pieces.
- Put the peaches into a bowl and mix in the brown sugar, cinnamon powder and vanilla flavoring
- Mix all the ingredients together.
- Arrange 3 to 4 pieces of peaches onto each puff pastry.
- Brush beaten egg around the edges of the puff pastries.
- Bake your pastries from 10-15 minutes.
- Check your pastries from time to time as the edges can easily burn.
- Don't overcook.
- Take out the pastries from the oven and let them cool on your cooling rack.
- For the vanilla glaze, mix the powdered sugar with the vanilla and milk. Add more of each ingredient to get your desired glaze consistency.
- Drizzle your vanilla glaze over your tart. Brush some remaining peach syrup over the tarts for some added shine.
