Nigella Lawson, the domestic goddess (credits to owner) When I received an invitation to join the Contadina Supermarket Raid, I almost jumped with joy. Why? Because finally, I’ll get to know the brand which Nigella Lawson is endorsing. I’ve been watching Nigella ever since I became a full time work at home mom. She’s a gourmet and food writer and I am a total fan of hers. I could watch her forever, the Domestic Goddess, with her pretty face and I dig it whenever she sneaks in to munch on something from her refrigerator...

In this recipe, I’ve used Contadina Arrabiata Pasta Sauce as a marinate for my chicken wings. This is my entry for the recipe contest in the Contadina Supermarket Raid held in Robinsons Selection at Venice Piazza. I’ve decided to use this pasta sauce variant of Contadina because of its main ingredients which are Italian Tomatoes and Red Chili Peppers. Instead of using a typical marinate for chicken wings (such as soy sauce and calamansi), the Contadina Arrabiata sauce gave an Italian taste and a spicy kick to my chicken. The...

What is your favorite comfort food? A comfort food is a simple dish which you can cook quickly not only to satisfy a hungry stomach, but most importantly, to give “comfort” or pleasure to those who eat this dish. My comfort food is called “albondigas soup” and my family is my primary fan of this dish. It’s a clear soup with pork meatballs, carrots and misua (Chinese Vermicelli). It should be served hot and can be eaten with rice during lunch or dinner. It’s also our favorite soup dish for rainy and cold seasons. My albondigas...

I had been keeping my Gift Certificates to The Spa for a long time. I didn’t have an idea that my first visit at this place will be one of the best day-off experience for me ever! We’d planned for Joy’s birthday a month before. As the three of us are all very busy work at home moms, add it up that we are also active bloggers, all our meet-up schedules need to be carefully planned.  Joy treated us for a lunch buffet in Vikings, Louisa paid for our movies, and I used my gift cards to The Spa. Joy even had to work that...

Most of us moms already know that it’s necessary to take care of ourselves. We’ve been told to relax from time to time, to give time for ourselves, etcetera. But sometimes, no matter how we try to relax, there’s one thing which will always stress us. And that is when we think of our budget. How can a mom relax if she sees how the prices of basic needs keep on rising? That’s how it is, you know. Because moms will always prioritize her family over herself. For example, if you have a small baby, a mother will buy a...

Do you use apps? Sa dami ng apps available, I stopped using so many and retained only a few. Because like some of the books I own (the physical books) end up being dusty. I am always de-cluttering at home and that’s the same with my phone. Aside from the default apps, I only keep my social media apps, Waze, Uber/Grab, A PDF Reader, and this one, most recently, The Smart Mommy App. The Smart Mommy App is actually a very new app which I’ve learned from the developer herself LJ Reyes. Yes, the actress LJ Reyes. I met her just...

Do you know any students who have skills in animation? Aspiring student film animators now have the chance to showcase their creativity and film animation skills, and win up to P100,000 cash prize in the Chooey Wowow World Animated Short Film competition. Universal Robina Corporation’s (URC) chocolate brand, Jack ‘n Jill Chooey, collaborated with the Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI) to launch a special film-making competition. This will be part of Animahenasyon 2016 – an annual Filipino animation festival that will...

This week, I’ve tried to use my Simple Touch Rotisserie Multi Air Fryer to cook liempo for dinner. It was my first time to do this as I have only used this machine for roasting chicken and baking cakes. I was given a bottle of San Pedro BBQ Sauce and so I thought to use it for basting. I didn’t have enough time to marinate the liempo so what I did to make it tender is to boil it for a few minutes with a pinch of salt. And then I generously brushed San Pedro BBQ Sauce over the liempo, set the Air Fryer for 12 minutes 200 degree...
