Conrad Hotel Manila – Hotel Review

We chose to stay at Conrad Hotel because Dessert Museum and Lakbay Museo is located just below this hotel. It was a long weekend we had been waiting for quite a long time. It was our first time in Conrad and I remember that I’ve looked at this hotel when we checked in at the hotel across the street Microtel by Wyndham and I told myself that one day, we’ll be seeing how it looks on the inside of this huge hotel that looks like a giant luxury liner.

What you will love in Conrad, first of all, is its location. Aside from the S’Maison mall just below the building, Conrad is adjacent to the most prominent places in Manila, SM Mall of Asia and SMX. We went to Sunday mass that day we checked in, at Archdiocesan Shrine of Jesus the Way, the Truth, and the Life, which you can reach in a few minutes from the hotel. Along the way, there are 2 coffee shops you can go to (Black Sheep Coffee and Starbucks) and a convenience store (not 7/11).

Black Sheep cafe – cozy place to have coffee they offer liquor and cocktails too – check my Zomato review of Black Sheep Coffee

The room we stayed in was a 40 sqm Bay View King Deluxe Room. It has a king-sized bed where the 3 of us girls slept and a big long sofa for dad. The beddings were luxurious and the remote-controlled curtains were so cool. It was actually my first time to see such thing and I thought it was so modern and techie to have that at home. One thing was I was disappointed though that for the price we paid, the room didn’t have a bathtub. We were so tired with the museum visits and since it was too cold to use the pool, I could relax with a refreshing bath on the bathtub. oh well.

The pool was beautiful and modestly sized (not heated). I was expecting a bigger pool and now I am convinced that what you see in photos will not always be what’s in actual. I wish that we can try it on another time maybe on summer but what’s discouraging me is that the pool is at the center of the hotel. It is surrounded by rooms where other people are checked in. Though I don’t say that people will be spending time to look at me, I still feel that the rooms are a bit too close for comfort.

Breakfast in Brasserie on 3 looked fabulous and I really regret that I didn’t get a breakfast buffet this time. I thought that there will be many places to eat breakfast but I was wrong. Starbucks do not open till 8:30 am and so we had to eat at Millie’s across the hotel. Buti nalang they have more affordable breakfast plates and a delicious congee. The 2 girls rarely eat heavy breakfast so we just ordered bagels and donuts for them since Starbucks was already open by the time we were done at Millie’s.

Overall, the four of us loved Conrad Hotel Manila for the view and the location. If you are willing to splurge a little, roam around Mall of Asia and the nearby establishments, play with automatic curtains and bask in the view of Manila Bay while in your room, then this is the perfect place to stay.
