Cream Dory With Red Pepper Sauce

It will be Father’s Day in a week and I feel that my husband deserves a simple but delicious recipe that he will love. After all, my husband is easy to please when it comes to food. I don’t know if it’s just because I’m his wife that he never complains about my cooking or that he just knows better ( not to antagonize anyone who cooks your meal :-))

So he loves cream dory and I found this recipe from createwithcream.ph, a challenging recipe as the website categorizes it, but I found it easy enough that I even made a video when I cooked the dish for lunch.

Please watch the video here. I will really appreciate the YouTube likes and subscribe as I’m pretty new in making videos but I really love doing it. I promise to myself to make more and better cooking videos not only for the sake of having YouTube views and earn from them but also for my daughters to watch them in the future when they already have their own families to cook for.

Just a little tweak I made is that I used dried basil instead of fresh leaves. I nailed the flavor and spiciness but I think we would have loved the dish even more if I used fresh basil leaves. Fresh basil leaves are bigger, have more flavor and I love the experience in my mouth when I eat green, leafy vegetables.

The kids loved this dish and I’m sure you will too.

Ingredients:

1 large red bell pepper
Salt, cayenne pepper and pepper to taste
6 tbsp olive oil
500g dory fillets
1/8 cup water
1/4 pack NESTLÉ® ALL PURPOSE CREAM 250ml
10-12 fresh basil leaves

  • Slice the bell pepper into 4 and remove seeds.
  • Season with salt, pepper and 2 tbsp of olive oil.
  • Wrap the bell pepper in the aluminum wrap and roast in a 200 degree C oven for 30 minutes.
  • Sear the fish fillets in the oil, about 2 minutes on each side.
  • Blend together roasted pepper, water, NESTLÉ ALL PURPOSE CREAM, and basil leaves.
  • Season with salt and pepper. Serve the fish with the sauce at the bottom.
