I was in the grocery yesterday and craved for some Snickers Oats and I thought why not make my own. I have all the ingredients I need in my pantry so I went home and make a big jar full of Snickers Oats copycats without having the need to bake.
You can make yours too!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 bar salted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- a pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1/4 cup preferred nuts ( I used toasted cashew nuts in this recipe)
How to make:
- Melt butter, sugar, and vanilla altogether in a saucepan in low fire.
- When everything’s melted, add the rolled oats, cinnamon and salt. Mix together and continue to cook for about 5 minutes careful with the fire. I wanted my oats to have that a little bit toasted taste so I cooked for a few more seconds.
- Pour 1/2 half of the mixed oats into a 4×4 baking tray lined with wax paper or if you have none, you can spray with oil to avoid the mixture sticking on it.
- Flatten the oats until you have a nice layer.
- Sprinkle nuts over the first layer.
- Combine the chocolate chips and peanut butter and melt it in the microwave set in High for 40 seconds. Repeat until the mixture is completely melted.
- Pour chocolate over the first layer of oats and reserve some chocolates for drizzling.
- Add the second layer and then press.
- Drizzle with remaining choco-peanut melt.
- Freeze for an hour, cut in bars and serve.
